Without doubts, faith would not be needed and without faith, it is impossible to please God. Still, you’ve made a wild assumption there. Personally, my belief in Christ has never been stronger than it is now, but my belief in judging others (especially those outside the church) has never been weaker. I wonder if the two are related?
