There have been some thoughtful and reasonable comments from atheists on this discussion thread.

And then there has been a whole bunch of toxic responses from atheists who mock, belittle and attack the intellect of others because they believe different things. This kind of thing is what really shuts down discussion: “You’re beliefs are bullshit, and you’re an idiot for believing them.”

The kind of behaviour that really leads to abuse is the belief that everyone ought to believe the same as you. That goes for Christians and atheists.
