And I do — sometimes. Over the past six months, around 50% of my stories have made it.
Nobody is really sure how Medium curation works. We know that Medium has over 35 curators who read thousands of stories every single day to decide which ones get distributed in topics, and which ones do not. As for how they decide, that’s all a great mystery!
However, Medium has given us a few clues in its Curation Guidelines. I have used these guidelines, along with my own Medium experience over the past two years, to put together the Ten Commandments of Medium Curation.
The Ten Commandments of Medium Curation
1. Thou shalt have a clear headline
It should be clear from your headline, what your story is about. Do not be vague and abstract. According to this very helpful article, from Medium Writers Team, the headline should be so clear that the only thing a reader need ask themselves is: “Am I interested in this story?”
