Jeff, I will not defend the church here and I am sorry for what you went through for what it is worth.

But I don’t think my god is the god who abused you. I think it was people who misrepresented god who were the perpetrators of the abuse.

Anyone who uses god to justify or instigate abuse is the pure essence of evil. I really am sorry for what you went through. I wish I could do something about it.
